Like He Used to Do to Me
Verse 1.

I met this boy one day

and we started to hang out.

He showed me that love comes inside me.

But he thought we were friends

and I thought we were more than that.

Then one day this girl comes along

and takes him away from me

He doesn’t even mention me as they were talking.

As I was watching them behind a bush,

 Chorus:
He lifted her off the ground,

  showed her his world,

  shined her under the sun

and glowed her under the moon.

Like he used to do to me.

     Verse 2.
Then one night he came to me and said,

“I know you thought we were more than friends.

But if I had to choose between you and her I would choose her.

Anyway the reason I’m here is to ask you

if you would like to come to the wedding tomorrow?”

I said yes for some reason.

  When I got there

I finally found out who the girl was

   it was my sister.

    I was in complete shock.

But after they said their I dos and the priest pronounced them man and wife

and they kissed and walked down the aisle.

It was time for the bride and groom to dance.

    Chorus:
He lifted her off the ground,

    showed her his world,

  shined her under the sun

and glowed her under the moon.

Like he used to do to me.

    Verse 3.
Then two weeks after the honeymoon

they came over to visit me.

We put on some music and we would dance

and dance until it was time for them to leave.

They danced all the way to the vehicle.

  Chorus:
And He lifted her off the ground,

    showed her his world,

     shined her under the sun

and glowed her under the moon.

Like he used to do to me.

Now I moved on to a new life.

I moved back home to Tennessee living my normal life again.

Sometimes I think of the time when

he lifted me off the ground,

    showed me his world,

    shined me under the sun

and glowed me under the moon.

Now he does that to her.

He lifts her off the ground,

   showed her his world,

     shined her under the sun

and glowed her under the moon.

Like he used to do to me.

Like he used to do to me.
