Summer Boy
The warm sunny days that linger into autumn
We’d walk to the lake whenever rain was falling
I don’t know what hit me but I thought you’d last forever
Forever like the sunshine
But the fall faded into winter
And then you faded away
Faded like the sunshine
You told me you were sorry but time was almost over
And you left me by the lake, and the snow killed all the flowers
I don’t know what hit me but I thought love lasts forever
Forever like the sunshine
Now I’m cold and frosted, my heart is still frozen
You stuck me in the past and my tears won’t stop falling
I don’t know what hurt me but I thought my life was over
Over like the sunshine
But the fall faded into winter
And then you faded away
Faded like the sunshine
I don’t know where time went, but I sat there waiting
Waiting for the sunshine
