What You Missed
It seemed like all I'd ever known was gone
My normality for so long
Torn from the clutches of my grasp
No, it's not fair to have the one you thought you loved
Gone
Taken from you
I choose to remember the good times we had
But also to reflect and learn from the bad
You taught me what it means to be a true friend
Hopefully, this is not where our friendship will end
If so, it's part of life's crazy plan
May you stand on dry land
I hope your life will blossom and grow
May your true colors always show
I may miss you
But I'll move on
I'll do what I need to do
And found out who I really am
I'll take my time
To make my life the perfect rhyme
Found out who I want to be
Maybe then you'll see
What right now, you don't
You'll see the beautiful soul you missed
But I won't be there for you to run back to
Life goes on and so must I
I'll look back and remember
How I wanted you to stay
How I wanted this day
I wanted you to come running
Begging to have me back
And I'm gonna smile and shake my head
You missed out.
