Thunder and Lightning
The rain drops run down the window
The thunder rumbles in the west
The lightning brightens up the sky
And I can’t stop thinking about you

I want to meet you in the rain
And let the water run over my head
I want to see you in the rain
and let the lightning show my your eyes
And let the lightning show me your eyes

If only, only you could see yourself right now
 You could change your ways
And make them the way they used to be
When I first laid eyes on you
If only you could hear your words right now
Maybe just maybe we could talk it out
Maybe just maybe we can work this out

 Your hand touches my arm
And it feels like lightning is piercing my heart
And your eyes dig deep into my soul
The rain is dripping down our faces
And it’s just, just past midnight
And were trying to work things out
The thunder roars over our heads
But I can’t hear your words
But I can’t hear your words

If only you could see yourself right now
 You could change your ways
And make them the way they used to be
When I first laid eyes on you
If only you could hear your words right now
Maybe just maybe we could talk it out
Maybe just maybe we can work this out

You try to speak to me
 You’re wrapping yourself around me
Your words bounce right off me
 I can’t pay any attention
 The rain is pouring
 You reach for my hand
To pull me close to you
I let you comfort me as the rain eases
But your words don’t make sense to me
But your words don’t make sense to me

If only you could see yourself right now
 You could change your ways
And make them the way they used to be
When I first laid eyes on you
If only you could hear your words right now
Maybe just maybe we could talk it out
Maybe just maybe we can work this out
