When i look in the mirror
I don't like what I see in
The eyes of the girl staring
Back at me
I don't like the fear or
The tears threatening to spill on out
And I don't like the weight of her
Heavy heart
Bringing her down
She's drowning in herself
She's sinking in her own self
Doubt
She's trapped inside herself
If only someone knew how to help
Her out
When I’m walking alone in the street
I don't like the shadow that's
Following me
Staring down at her feet
Head hanging low
Shoulders slumped so as
To shrink her body
Hands shoved in her pockets
Hood shielding her face
And though I can't see them
I know her eyes are cloudy
She's drowning in herself
She's sinking in her own self
Doubt
She's trapped inside herself
If only someone cared enough to try and help
Her out
She's screaming out
In a silent voice
She's reaching out
With a hand so frail
She's staring out
With eyes wide and hurt
She needs someone to see that her
Spirit is dying out
What was once a bright glow is now no more
Than a flame burning down
Don't let the light go out
Oh don't let the light
She's drowning in herself
She's sinking in her own self
Doubt
She's trapped inside herself
If only someone cared enough
Oh if only someone looked long enough to see how they could help
Her out
