Take My Heart
These nights are getting longer
And there is no peace inside
We always believed love would make us stronger
Yet there is no heart for it to reside

 Hidden walls and getting scars
Makes finding love harder to believe
Being alone can become too dark
It leaves us ridden with tears and on our knees

Someone told me years ago that
When you find love, it scarcely remains
Yet to find one to change that
I will keep singing the same refrain

Be the one to take my heart
Hold it tight and keep it strong
Give love a chance and a new start
I will never be one to do you wrong
Lord sow me the one to change my life
 Too broken to search alone
Help me on my way to end my strife
To find one whose love isn't broken or strewn
And allow her to take my heart

Let her come when my walls are down
When I am torn and discarded
When I am lost, can't make a sound
I pray faith in love is rewarded

The Lord told me years ago that
When iI find love, it would remain
I believe I have found that
 So Lord, end the refrain

She's the one to take my heart
Hold it tight and keep it strong
Stricken by grief set free a new start
To life and love, when God was my braun.
