When our days of light are spent
And the flame of life is gone
To the land where stories end
We will go, and go as one

On the long and winding road
Of which songs and gods don't tell
On forgotten seas we'll float
We'll set sail and bid farewell

While our minds and troubles rest
From the chains of time released
We will brave our final quest
In a distant land of peace

But in all fair winds that blow
In the rising of the sun
In all good things that will grow
In every smile, our love lives on.

The author's comments:
I believe that some things are stronger than death and last for eternity. Not in a theatratical way, not in grand monuments and speeches, but in small deeds and every day lives, in the memory of those who remember. I wanted to write a poem that is not weepy but hopeful in the knowledge that death is but a part of life, albeit a painful one for those who remain behind.
