Scars are Forever
I have white slashes on my skin,
A reminder of all the pain,
That tore me apart in those horrific days,
An incision,
A wound,
That forever reminds me who I am,
Branding me with a mark,
So that I will never forget,
The terrible deeds committed by them,
Stretching up my arms and face,
They cover my body with no space left abandoned,
Gray and ugly they make me look like a freak,
A monster to those who can’t see past my skin,
Hoping that they will disappear is a false hope,
They are here to stay,
Because scars are forever.
