When They Are Silent
Living an existence of isolation
No cloth to wipe away the tears
Treat your body like a canvas
But not for paint
Not for once along the years
The abstract remains incomplete
But there's more progress every day
But the brushes' marks, they speak to me
What do they say?
Oh, what do they say?
They tell me of suffering
They tell me of plight
They tell me of bloodshed
Underneath a broken fight
They tell me of emptiness
Of a continuous lie
and when they are silent
I see the pain behind brave eyes
A million circles run through my mind
Can you here their pleas?
If those arms could cry out
would anyone find peace?
I can't find the
reason why
So tired
I'd just die
Vulnerable
Teary eyes
Reaching there
Yelling there
Out of earshot
Are you there, God?
I can feel the braille written across those arms
and I can reverse time to protect from every harm
I beg of you, please, just give me today
Those god damned markings, what do they say?
They tell me of suffering
They tell me of plight
They tell me of bloodshed
Underneath a broken fight
They tell me of emptiness
Of a continuous lie
and when they are silent
I see the pain behind brave eyes
and when the cuts are silent
I wish I'd seen unbroken eyes
