"Come to the edge, he said. No, we will fall, they replied. They came to the edge. He pushed them...and they flew."

It’s gotten late, my dear, and I want to be alone
I’d prefer if you leave
The air’s gotten thick without you home
With you gone, there’s nothing left to breathe

I couldn't inhale with the bed empty
The sheets dejected on your side
Wishing for those futile touches
When our bodies would tiredly collide

It’s gotten to be too much, I understand,
We can’t keep this up forever
But still, my throat closes up at home
Gasping in scattered memories of when we were together

I understand, though my head's gotten lighter, its seems
Space colliding, empty pockets, thoughts bursting at the seams

It’s gotten late, my dear, and I want to be alone
I thought you'd gone from here
There’s only negative space where you once were
There’s only negative space where you once were
