"No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist."
- Oscar Wilde

Lying here on these cold days
Shallow air around me sways
Sometimes you need to be seen
Fire fire burning bright, extinguished by judgemental light
Sometimes you need to be heard
They run me through
Nothing to do
I press on, I press on

Sometimes
You gotta sink back into reality
Sometimes
You just gotta know who you’re supposed to be
Wake up
Haven’t you been here for, long enough
To see what’s makin’ you look up and see that the sky is blue
You kneel down and smell the flowers there in front of you
You’re searching for what’s invisible
Feelings you never knew
Wake up
And quit pretending like you’re used to
Inhale, there’s nothin’ new, they don’t love you.

But somehow I keep on going, all the while knowing
That I can’t be saved by me or you.
Somehow I keep believing, faithful through my grieving
Lord, what can they do?
I can’t be moved

Pushing through, I’ll come to you
Find me now, catch me somehow
They have ice hearts, sharp tongues
They shoot me down, they shoot me down
Pressing on into the deafening night
No one to cling to, dampened light
I feel my instinct taking over
Blinded by adaption
Choking on redemption
I have no one to save me now
But I stay sound
What can I say, when I’m always pushed away
Hid behind lies, caught unto the wise
There’s no one left to see me smile
No one to hold me when I cry at night.

But somehow I keep on going, all the while knowing
That I can’t be saved by me or you.
But somehow I keep believing, faithful through my grieving
Lord, what can they do?
I can’t be moved

Sometimes you need to be seen
Sometimes you need to be heard
Fire fire burning bright, extinguished by judgemental light
They run me through
Nothing to do
I can’t be moved
