Funhouse Mirrors
Round and round I go again
fighting urges, fear and sin
I yearn to break free from the chains
but the funhouse Mirrors have trapped me again
The clowns are laughing, the crowd is applauding
one perfect illusion and it fools us all
For under the makeup a person is dying
waiting for someone to answer their call
Left and right the labyrinth goes on
The bandstand plays a cheerful song
each image screams a song of their own
The funhouse mirrors won't leave me alone
The tigers are growling as the elephants trumpet
The laughter and cheers blind the truth from our eyes
For beyond the show curtain a dark whip is flying
Praying for someone to see through the lies
Run and scream but I can't win
The walls around me are caving in
I'm suffocating and try as I might
The funhouse mirrors have won the fight
