Black Night
Why are people afraid of you, Darkness?
Because little light can pierce your dark veil?
The insanity acute in likeness?
The hopelessness some can just barely feel?
Maybe you can feel the ill-meaning beasts
The ones that lurk just outside sight and mind
The sun not able to come to in the east
The whispers that seem to respond in kind
Whispers that can envelope you in time
Bliss that is there for only a moment
In the end it will steal all that is mine
Put a lock on the cage in enclosement
Why are people afraid of you, Darkness?
It should be of what is in the darkness
