Childhood fear
A door shone in the darkness; odd, it’s bare.
A toy bear is shown by a dim light.
The room shakes and shatters, I feel a stare.
I hear sudden sounds, I prepare to fight.
The darkness spreads across the room, jump scare!
I fall to the floor and feel the heat fade.
I gather myself and sit in a chair.
I realize I need to call for aid.
I go outside and search for some help.
I spot a farmer on their green tractor.
I see the tractor and want to yelp.
My back hurts. I need a chiropractor.
I go to the guy and go for a ride.
Because I wanted to leave and not hide.
