Oak Tree

I saw a pretty bird inside the woods
It circled ‘round a very tall oak tree
Then flew away towards my neighborhood
I wonder why it fled so suddenly
I went and walked towards the lofty oak
I watched its leaves twirl in the breezy air
I touched the wood and suddenly it spoke
“Why are you watching me with such a stare?”
I jumped back and tripped over a rock
I’ve never seen a talking tree before
I stood there frozen with a look of shock
And listened as the oak spoke even more
Now I go to the forest every day
Just to hear what the oak tree has to say
