Season's Sonnet
Colors flood the sky, setting him ablaze
A gloomy sign of warm days endless sleep
A cricket chimes the end of summer days
As the sun sinks into the oceans deep
How bright the autumn leaves do seem to be
Before the frozen winds flail them about
Pulling them down from their still standing tree
Endless tug of war day in and day out
Then the frozen dandruff does fall to us
Dressing the once barren trees and stiff grass
Until we begin to freeze and to fuss
Remember the lazy times we let pass
And then the first signs of new life appear
A dazzling display of spring’s bright premiere
