Dreams of the Insane
I fear the times when I am left alone
My thoughts return to horrors from before
The pain seems to have a mind of its own
It takes control and cuts me to the core
At night I dream of what should not be dreamt
What is the cause of the visions in my head?
Did Angels or demons watch as I slept?
Are they messages from someone long dead?
Am I insane? Am I losing my mind?
What have I ever done to deserve this?
A consequence of cruelty or being kind
What is the meaning I somehow missed?
However random or horrific they seem
I always pray that it was just a dream
