Hopelessly Hopeful
Your eyes burn like fire inside in my soul.
Your infectious smile always makes my heart
Sing with joy, a gift that never gets old.
It was simply electric from the start.
Too young to know what love can truly be.
But old enough to know the heart’s power.
Fading in the background, you can’t see me.
Invisible, so I watch from afar.
Exchanging glances, my heart skips a beat.
Screaming on the inside, why can’t you see?
I dream that you’re the prince to my princess,
Living in a world where my dreams come true.
Reality comes knocking on my door.
Time to go back to being me.
