When things were at their worst they held you tight
Came to the rescue in all times of need
Lovingly loving you with all of their might
And willingly teaching you to proceed

At the best of times they gave you a smile
Made the sun come out on the darkest days
Helped you realise it was all worthwhile
And made you happy in all the best ways

They do their best to teach you some life skills
And they hope to God you will use them well
They liberate you even though it kills
Don’t you worry some day things will be swell

Now they must leave and observe from above
In hopes you succeed with their endless love
