"Bowing gratefully to all of my subjects, 'thank you. Thank you. The pleasure is mine." Nah, I'm just kidding. We're all kings together.'"
~Thesilentraven

The sky is turquoise blue, the air is clear.
A meeting of minds, alike as can be.
Their lives so differnet, parting draws near.
Severed already by a figurative sea.

working in unison as hearts are bound.
They speak together 'til the job is done.
Ever linked, though proximity unwound.
What does that matter, if memory won?

Memory won, a treasure of the heart.
Their brains vibrate still of roads unsung.
But they are grateful, cherishing the art
beautiful, on physical walls unhung.

Doubting am I, that they meet again still,
but the heart hopes on, as it always will.

The author's comments:
This is the first sonnet I've ever written, so it's probably terrible, but it was fun writing it! :D
(BTW, I don't think mules really are bigger than horses, it's just that a guy told me he sure thought they were.)

There are some people and chance meetings that you just never forget :)

Haha XD I think I'm a bit too timid at times...

That is an idea, though I've kinda found that I like the periods, it's like the narrator is pausing after every line to let them ring out in an echoingly-silent room.

Le hannon, once again :)

I agree with Boo, this is really good ^_^ my only problem is maybe placing commas where some of the periods are, just for better flow. Keep up the great work!

I think I shall, I guess I don't have much of a choice anyway <Eyebrow waggle>

If Boo says so, I really must be.

Thank you very much.

Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

Ha, I've waited so long to say that.

Indeed. One strange thing is: like minds often seem able to sense each other's presence, yet so seldom do they meet! I very much hope that you can see your friend again.

Rim Hannaid, it is good to be reading your comments once again. You see far, a talent which few posess, and even fewer are able to articulate.

These meetings of alike minds can happen anywhere, at any time.

Also, the last two lines do a remarkable job of concluding the poem.

I am, as always, of the belief that no goodbyes are permanent.

I love it when the heart hopes on, though doubt is feasting  on the mind.

The words of this sonnet are so very clear and honest, and yet I am still left with the feeling that there is a lot more to the story than I can presently see. It's been a while since I've looked at your poetry, and this has reminded me of your extreme creativity when manipulating your thoughts. Well done, Stargirl!

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.

This poem is really beautiful and it relates to me in a very personal way! :)

This poem reminds me of the song
