Redemption

I was somebody.
A hero to my peers' eyes.
Soon after, I'm nobody.
Then, I started to get a ton of jeers.
I realized that there is hope.
I must make things right.
As soon as I talk to the Pope.
Then, everything shall be bright.
I was getting things done.
I felt reborn.
Things were starting to look fun.
It was time to be adorn.
Unfortunately, after everything I've done, nobody saw me.
I was invisible. The people ignored my brand-new glee.
