Angel's Wings
I only wanted you to hold my hand,
Red rover strength with iron-woven seams,
Our toes would slowly sink into the sand,
Climbing over mountains of hopes and dreams.
Nine years was not enough, I needed more
time to recognize the pain you disguised.
You hid your aches and they left you too sore
To defend your heart from those you despised.
That little bump would grow into a rose,
With big blue eyes that crave new memories,
Desi’ring love that blossoms and grows,
Leaving no home for dark realities.
These angel’s wings with downy feathers fly
You up into the kingdom in the sky.
