Coping with an Addicted Parent
The article titled “Coping With An Addicted Parent” written by Heather, talks about her parents’ addiction left me shocked that so many people could be going through the same thing. In the article she writes, “People are beaten down and broken by lifes intense events.” This article hit me hard because I can relate to this person’s story in a way. I also grew up with addicted parents and some of the same issues her and her family had. This is definitely written well. I can tell the writer is eager to tell her story and get it out there to help others. The author Heather seems to want to spread advice and give help to others who may be in the same situation she’s writing about. She includes suggestions of what kind of mindset to keep while dealing with that and she lets people know they aren't alone. She also writes, “Leaving sometimes makes things worse before they get better.” The kind of information she puts in this article would be helpful to others dealing with an addicted parent and` whos trying to cope.
