The article titled “The Missing Ninth,” written by Sara Jarecke, tells the story of Sara’s history teacher talking to her class about how much time teenagers today spend on their phones. In the article, Sara states, “A different girl sets a new record by casually mentioning that she spends 11 hours a day on her phone…” This made me extremely shocked because that is almost half the day that she spends with her face glued to her phone. According to Sara, “...we will spend one-ninth of our lives on our phones…” This is insane to me because phones are so unnecessary to our daily lives, yet we use them as if our lives depend on them.
