The Double Decker
As the burger was placed in front of me I thought to myself, How am I going to eat all of this? On the menu, it was called the “Double Decker.” Two juicy beef patties surrounded by melted cheese and crispy, bright green lettuce. My stomach growled as I stared at it as my mouth began to water thinking of the different flavors hitting my tongue.
As I picked up the burger my hands could barely hold it. My thumb and middle finger grasped the bun so that nothing would fall out. Lifting the burger I opened my mouth and my taste buds cheered in anticipation and excitement. I bit down on the soft bun, through the cheese and the patty. My mouth was overwhelmed with flavors. The patty was cooked just right at medium rare, it was pink and juicy. The freshness of the lettuce cut through the heavy flavor of the burger and the ketchup added just the right taste. The cheddar cheese that was perfectly melted tied it all together. I couldn’t put it down.
Licking my fingers. I looked at my clean plate. And sat there in awe. My stomach growled as it was full of the hamburger I had just devoured. A smile appeared on my face as I couldn’t be happier. I had eaten the best meal of my life.
