Book review: If I stay
The book If I stay, is a great book. The title was alluring, so I had to read it. It was basically about this girl named Mia. She gets into a car crash and she ends up in a coma. She has to make the decision whether she wants to live or die. But the thing is that she has to choose quickly because she’s running out of time.
With that being said, I liked this book because it was relatable in a way. I’ve read other books about decision making and this one in particular was very good. And about making quick decisions, I know people's first instinct about it is they don't want to make the wrong choice.
Mia was the most interesting character to me because I relate to her the most. She’s quiet but so very driven. Plus she absolutely loves music, and I do as well. She was a well written character that I believe most teens can relate to. So I recommend teens to read this book.
I believe the book's message was about sacrifice. She already lost so much, so if she decides to wake up she sacrifices not seeing her mom, dad and Teddy. But if she decides to not wake up, she sacrifices not seeing her boyfriend Adam or her best friend Kim. Plus she won’t see if she gets into Julliard. So there's so much to sacrifice on both ends. This is one book you definitely will not want to skip.
