After his home of Lumatere was cursed Finnikin and the rest of the previous residence were sent into exile. Lucky for Finnikin, he was with the dead kings first man, Sir Topher. Finnikin wants nothing more then to go back to his home with the people he once lived beside, but to do that he would have to bring back the rightful heir to the throne. With the help of Evanjalin, a novice, he will have to find the lost prince Balthazar and bring his people home. Though Finnikin doesn't trust this girl he is willing to fallow her to find his father and peace in the valley of his home.

I did really enjoy this book but it had taken me a while to get into it. Is greatly set up and keeps you wondering at all times. Also has a great romantic part of the story which peaked my interest. Over all a good book but took some time to get into and time for the book to become interesting.
