Venom by Fiona Paul
Venom is the thrilling first novel Fiona Paul has written. This book mixes romance, scandals, murders and many secrets.
The book is set in medieval Venice. Cassandra Caravello finds a body of one who is murdered, she teams up with Falco, an artist to find out who did it and why. She is drawn into secret societies and murders.
I absolutely loved this book. I have always had an interest in the medieval times, this was the perfect book. The plot was kept exciting and it kept turning. I didn’t want to put this book down.
The romance and suspense was balanced. Just the great dose of all of it. I have never read a book like this before.
I could see the canals and gondolas. The book was very descriptive, and I could see the elaborate paintings, churches and dresses.
The use of italian made the book that much better. I even learned a few words. The overall word choice was great.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Belladonna.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, murder or mystery.
