Hi! My name is Max. My mommy left me with a really mean person. I only lived with him for about two days though, because one night he scooped me up when I was asleep. Then he tossed me in the back of a big, loud, scary thing that moved by itself! After a while the man grabbed me, I was glad because it was really hot back here, and tied a rope around my neck. He took the other end of the rope and wrapped it around a really tall, bulky stick with little things at the top that moved when the wind blowed. Once he left I got a little scared because I was all alone, until I realized that I was right outside of a big house. The house smelled like nasty cats and other dogs, just like mom. It was so late and I was real tired, but the smell was keeping me up because it was strong. I ignored it and before I knew it I had fallen asleep. I was woke up by a with a gentle touch. My neck was hurting so much from the rope, so thank goodness she took it off for me. She took me inside then left me in a room all by myself. There was a tall, metal table and some cabinets just like the ones that were in the mean man's home, but these did not smell like yummy food. They smelled like the little things that the mean man at out of a small bottle. I don't know why anyone would ever eat something that was so stinky. I was just looking around the fascinating room, then the nice lady came back in, so I went to greet her. Then I noticed that she brought in a man, so I recoiled. Then I saw that he looked alot kinder than the one who left me here so i said hello to him too. They were rubbing my belly while they were talking. I kept hearing the man call the woman “Jill” so I guess that was her name. Once they got done talking they both picked me up and laid me on the cold, metal table. Jill came to my head and stared petting me, but out of the corner of my eye I saw that he man had a long, sharp object in his hand. I started to squirm because I was scarred. Jill put her hand over my eyes, the other on the back of my head, behind my ears, and  she cooed in my ear to soothe me. Then I felt a sharp pain in my butt. He had stabbed me with the thing in the butt! It was hurting me but I was still just so shocked. Jill talked to the man, while I was still on the table, he petted me then left. She picked me up and carried me past a room that smelled like  cats, i hoped that she didn't put me in there. We kept walking down the hall and she opened a door that had so many dogs in it. THey were all very loud because they were barking and jumping up on the chain fence that was around them. They all had their own pens, but they didn't look like they were having fun. Jill walked me all the way to the end of the hall and put me in my own cage. She shut the door and got me a blanket and two bowls. One of the bowls had water and the other one had food! I was so happy because the man didn't feed me those two days while I was in his house. When she put the two bowls down I want directly to the one with food and gobbled it all up then drank so water. She pet me a little while then left the cage, shut the door, and left the big room with me and all of the other dogs. Everyone got quite and then started to fall asleep. I there was one window and it was across from me. i couldn't go to sleep so i just watched the sun start to go farther and farther down in the sky. After doing that for a while i got bored so i went to my blanket that Jill gave me and I was about to go to sleep, it is really easy for me to sleep because I am always sleepy, I heard the door swing open and then everyone started to bark and go to there fences. I got up to see why everyone way flipping out. I was a little girl and a tall man. The two walked down the fence petting every dog along the way. I noticed that i was the only one not jump or barking, I was just sitting here waiting my turn. I was almost my turn when the little girl saw me and skipped all of the other, ran to my fence and squealed. The girl talked to the tall man and then they walked out. A few minutes later the two came back in with Jill, she had a rope but this one was not a thick. Jill put the thin rope around my neck, this one didn't hurt as bad, she gave the other end or it to the little girl and she walked me out. The tall man and Jill were walking behind us while they were talking. We all went outside and I played with the little girl. The little girl called the man “Daddy” and then he stopped talking to Jill and came over to us and pet my ears. I really like them, they are nice and sweet to me. Daddy picked me up and put me in the big moving thing, then put the little girl beside me in a chair that was strapped to the other chair. Daddy went in to the house with Jill then came right back out and got in the front and started to make us move. I was glad to leave that big house and so was Daddy and the little girl, because I could tell that they were happy.
