Sneakily wandering throughout the dusk outside, a place she was forbidden to go.  Flowers upon flowers formed along endless tunnel around the smoky jagged stone walkway. Varieties of endless roses, tulips, daisies, sunflowers, and others were scattered across. Colors booming of pastel purple, strawberry reds, and some sky blue echoed throughout the tunneled path. A girl inhaled the scent of the purple pastel flower through her nose. Waves of strong sweetness with a tint of crisp morning air sent a calming feeling over her. The smell of home, where she longed to be. The fantasy only attainable through escape.  Unfortunately, she was stuck in her own mess all because of the-.

¨HEY! Whatcha looking at?¨ interrupted Harper. Her small golden curls bounced up and down with her light blue ocean eyes gleaming with curiosity.

I looked over amused to motioned over to the fully bloomed purple flowers, ¨Well you see all these beautiful flowers blooming and growing?¨ Harper nodded her head in excitement keeping her big eyes set on the flowers radiating purple.

¨Can I have that purple one right there.. the biggest one?¨ I shrugged my shoulders not caring.

¨You can pick it as long as its blossomed.¨  So I beckoned for her to snap the flower from its roots. Suddenly her blue eyes darted towards one of the pink flower bulbs that were in the process of growing.

¨Ooh can I pick that one as well?!” she looked up pleadingly.

¨No harper not yet, it hasn't fully bloomed.  Just like some people in our life .´

Harper tilted her head to the side with her baby blue eyes squinted in confusion. ¨What do ya mean some people in our life, they aren't.. flowers?¨

I shook my head smiling, ¨Physically, no. Emotionally, yes.¨

She rolled her eyes still not comprehending, she triumphantly placed her hands on her hips, ¨Then explain.¨

I looked over to the tiny budded flower still in the shape of a teardrop. Closed up. Trying to stay protected from the world. ¨Well for a budded flower to grow and blossom, what three things do you need?¨

She put her delicate fingers on her chin thinking, ¨Hmm..soil, warmth, water, and sunlight.¨

I nodded over. ¨that's correct! All these three things represent something in life, the water is the obstacles we face. Then the sunlight and soil warmth signifies people who throw love your way and become the light.¨

Harper had a challenging look over her face, ¨So how does that exactly relate to a budded flower?¨

I thought back to the moments with Jax and instantly knew. ¨People who are broken and hurt in life are the budded flowers, they feel the weight of water constantly pouring down on them. To help overcome the challenges they need love thrown their way, the sunlight.¨

Harper was speechless for once. Her tiny mouth was parted open, revealing her pearly white teeth. I continued, ¨Eventually the weight of the water will evaporate away from the soil with help from the sunlight.  With all these things together the budded flower will bloom, representing a new full growing person.¨

Harper stared in awe but had a questioning look. ¨What what if the water comes back and more challenges keep weighing them down again?¨

I sighed remembering back on the past.  ¨There's always going to be ups and downs in life, it's a cycle. Just like the cycle of how flowers grow. We are the budded flowers. Just remember.. we can always decide to bloom and grow from challenges we face.¨
