“Annaaa, Anaaa!” yelled the old lady calling the young girl in a hasty voice. She seemed incredibly disturbed and a little angry over the stubborn nature of the child. “Coming, Maaa!” replied the girl. A loud noise of scurried steps came from upstairs as the young girl hurried downstairs. The wooden stairs made a lot of noise. This triggered the old lady as she had taught Anna so many times that young ladies do not walk with such haste. Down the stairs came a pale young girl.

Freckles covered her pale skin, brown eyes that look like pools of honey in sunlight, her nut brown hair tied up in two braids and her heart beating fast. ‘Not again’ she whispered to herself as she saw the old lady as still as a tomb, bending down waiting for her help. The old lady was trying to pick up the knit ball toy for the cat. She had twisted a bone in her back and couldn't move, this happened often. At times when she moved promptly she would twist a nerve or two sometimes in her legs, sometimes in her arms. The aged woman thought of this as nature’s way of reminding her that she was the host of an aged body.

“Hurry! Fetch me a glass of cold water” ordered the elderly woman. The bells at the door chimed and leah, the cat started purring loudly this happened whenever the bells chimed. The woman walked slowly to the door she checked through the peephole first she saw a postman. “Is someone named Maria here?” asked the young boy. “ I am Maria, what do you want?” replied the lady in an exasperated voice. “There is a package here for you.” he replied. He handed her a hefty package covered in brown recycled paper and soaked in rainwater. She gave a distraught look and shut the door.

“Who was it?” Anna asked. “Young ladies mustn’t interfere in matters that don’t concern them.” replies Maria. Anna was curious as to what was inside the package her grandma was holding. “The forbidden fruit is always the sweetest” relatively to Anna’s situation.

I displayed some of my own physical qualities in Anna. Her pet is to signify the fear of the unknown and mystery.
