Into the Flames
I could barely see through the thick blanket of swirling black smoke. Ahead of me I could hear the distant cries of civilians. Through burning corridors and up a pair of stairs I couldn’t even see… I made my way to the frightened people. Behind me others were trying to put out the fire to clear a path for the civilians to escape. Quickly leading them down the corridors and into the fresh air I left them in the care of the medics, and headed back inside with my men to finish the job at hand...
