The Essence of Time: Sadness and Happiness
She could not laugh, nor smile. The world was grey for her. Time went by slowly. Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours. People say that life is precious and that you must savor every second. She was an out of focus picture, never able to clarify her purpose. Her anti drug was nonexistent. Her clothes were all black, along with her nails, hair, eye shadows, and necklace. The only thing she had to look forward to was to graduate. Yet at the same time, graduation would mean that she would need to get a job and her own house. That would be quite a bittersweet moment. The cup is always half empty for her. And then one day, one cold February 16 in Maryland, her father came back. She felt the warmth of his embrace, the loving in his eyes. As they talked for the remainder of the day, those hours felt like minutes, and the minutes felt like seconds.
