Monstrosity
I am small. It is easy to tell that I am fragile and easily broken; young, fair-haired, fair skinned, and blue eyed. I know I could be seen as the sweet little princess in a simple fairy tale.
Surrounding me are bright lights and laughing people, having a good time. I hear music and a man shouting,” Cotton candy! Hot dogs! Soda!” With a world so busy all around me, I am even more scared and alone.
Here I am seven years old and no hand leads me around this crazy place. Wondering around I get hard stares because I am different. It’s not just my stature or how delicate I am. These people have green horns on their heads, and pointy, long noses. Their skin looks dirty and their nails are more like claws, rough and jagged. To me, they look like giants, standing nearly eight feet tall. Then there are those eyes. Those eyes, that will haunt me in even my sweet dream; small and black that look as if there is nothing behind them.
Although it may seem strange to you, these people don’t seem like the monstrosity in the situation to me. They are the only kinds of people I’ve ever known. So it is I who is the odd one out. They all seem normal and perfect. I am the one who came along marked by beauty. They are contempt with their ugliness and I hope that someday I have enough luck to be just like these ugly creatures.
Innocence is beautiful
