The Trip
I suddenly woke up with no clue where I was at. I know its a forest but that doesn't really bother me because it's such a stunning day, the sun was up the birds were chirping. The trees were just breathtaking, standing there full of life. Everything was! I was so humbled at the sight I was saw. They, the trees told me to get up to walk around, go explore this wonderful place. And that's exactly what I did, I just followed the path the trees told me to go down. That's when they began to get up, even pulled a pipe out and toked a little. While talking to me, they told me about all the pain they’re going through. And how they see and feel so many of their loved ones being cut down or even burned down. And how they wish they could get up and help out but sadly they cant. They must stay in their spots. Still they quickly switched the topic on how happy they are. Giving life to everyone and all the animals there. The oldest tree said he has been there for thousands of years and he's seen so many things. So many bad things but the best thing he's ever seen was watching the earth grow. And watching the people truly take in the beauty of life. And how happy he was that I was there listening to all his stories. He told me to go down to the river and ask for the wise turtle. And just to sit next to him and see how he sees how marvelous this world is. And how lucky we are for having such a gift. So I head on my way. As I'm wondering towards the river I see this bright, almost blinding light, and in a blink of an eye my once happy life comes to a end. And the only thing I have to show for it, is a newspaper heading stating “Man O.D’s in park. Age 24.“
