Lovebirds
It’s crucial to understand
That desire truly is an evil deed
And that lust can overtake
Even the humblest of man
Now, side-by-side on the bench
Two lovebirds
One, a vulture ready to take its claim
The other, a little finch
The vulture is greedy,
Consumed by its insatiable hunger.
The finch is needy,
Offering itself to the hunter.
And so the vulture stalks its prey,
Watching,
Waiting,
Manipulating.
The poor little finch didn’t even realize,
The danger,
The abuse,
Before the light was snuffed from its eyes.
