Today the crimson bleeds for you
whose lives were lost
as madness flew.
Today the crimson beats for you
whose lives were given
as hero's due.
Today the white reflects for you
your innocence
in a senseless act.
Today the white will shine for you
your loss that prompted
us to act.
Today the blue will stand for you
two thousand, nine hundred,
and seventy-seven stars
on a field of blue.

May we never forget the passion felt that day. May the fierce anger and righteous indignation over that cntemptible act never perish from American hearts. May we always remember what was lost that day.
