The Room Next Door MAG
My brother's going off to school,
College bound is he.
He's packed up all the things he needs
For his new room at BC.
His room has always drawn me in,
Enamored by the size.
A spacious place to call my own.
A plan I did devise.
His walls will go from blue to pink,
His drapes from plain to lace.
The room should have a floral touch,
Fresh flowers in a vase.
The closet has been measured.
My clothes will nicely fit.
More windows than in my room
And beautifully sunlit.
There's only one small problem,
A foil in my plan.
For I failed to consider
My parents' unjust stand.
They told me he had not moved out.
How dare that I presume
That I could have it for my own
For it was still his room!
So here I'll stay in my small suite
For just a few years more,
And dream about what could have been
Right in the room next-door.
