Ode De Clementine MAG
Oh, dear and tender Clementine,
Oh, tiny, tasty friend of mine,
You I covet most of all,
Though you may be of stature small.
No other citrus do we know -
Not Tangerine nor Tangelo,
Nor Orange, beloved of the mob,
Malignant Lemon, Lime the snob,
Nor giant oafish Grapefruit - who
Can hold a candle's flame to you.
Let the others preach and prate;
I'll squeeze their juice for concentrate,
And you alone I will not harm,
So taken am I by your charm.
I'll taste your flesh and flash a grin,
As juice runs slowly down my chin;
From peel to skin, to meat, to seed,
Oh, Clementine, you're all I need.
