Looking At The Sea MAG
1
The little, azure waves
are but
ripples in the whole sea
where dolphins may frolic.
2
The darkness of night
covers the beach
like a veil for mourning.
But no one is sad.
Night swimming.
3
Stars cast light over
calm beaches,
beckoning,
with hidden green and blue hues.
4
Black on white.
Night sky against the
ivory cleanliness
of crashing surf.
Dark,
but not overwhelming.
White,
but not blinding.
5
Soft moonbeams make the sea
shimmer, resplendent with
unearthly luster.
The ocean never seemed clearer,
as luminous.
It is like a lantern.
6
Too late to be out.
Vast sky, if you can call
the darkness sky.
Ebony, sable, jet.
7
Sometimes breaking waves deafen.
But not now -
they are at peace.
You can dive into a wave -
let it wrap you up
with frigid arms
and take you for a wild ride
reminiscent of a roller coaster
only better.
You can always go back.
8
Tiny, miniscule stars,
blotches of light
eons away.
They are candles
on the altar of the world,
emitting light.
Infinite lights,
specks, motes, particles.
9
Crash,
Crash,
Crash,
waves don't wait for anyone,
they break
violently against each other,
thrusting forward.
Waves don't care.
10
There could be bloodthirsty sharks
the great white with
red-stained teeth.
Imagine the dolphins playing,
the tortoises paddling with
lazy buoyancy,
rosy starfish,
blue whales dwarfing
a whole school of
seahorses and lobsters and crabs.
Penguins dive
and seals bark.
Tonight, though, all is silent,
the sea sleeps.
