Childhood Memories MAG

By Anonymous

A weary face emerged through the gate.

I saw myself strangled by harsh demands,

Forced to mature beyond a rapid rate,

The pressure is like stretched elastic bands.

An illusion flashed across my mind,

I saw a place from hustle and bustle,

Was this site a paradise of some kind?

I pondered as the leaves outside rustled.

Yes! This heaven was my carefree childhood.

How I yearn for that time in the country

When we played games of House and Robin Hood.

But time is cruel and yields no re-entry.

My dear childhood may be gone forever,

But my memories I'll forget never.
