I see her take off her scarf I’m startled, I’m speechless as if my mouth had a muzzle on it. I’m sad for her because something she deeply cares about is taken away. I can almost get a whiff all the chemicals falling from the scarf, just drifting away in the air like smoke from a grill. I see the hurt and agonizing pain on her face, but I notice the attempt of a fake smile so I couldn’t absorb he pain and sadness. I can’t draw my attention to anything else but the scarf and what was falling from it. I fix my mouth to say “mommy cancer may take your hair away, but it can’t take your beauty.”
