My Dad
My dad is an encyclopedia of stupid jokes. Some people have categorized, counted, and courted these attempts at humor as Dad Jokes, but my dad’s jokes are like a fine wine. He has a plethora of silly songs, most including poop. When he walks by me, he’ll sing, “Domenic Daviddddddd, he’s a pretty good boyyyy, when he’s sleepinggggg.”
If someone is in delicate situation, my dad brings in a sledgehammer joke, and uses it to shatter the glass of tension, hoping it will make them feel better. Most of the time, it gets a laugh, and helps them. Sometimes, the joke dies, and the person blows up in his face. No matter the result, my dad deliberately deals with situations like this.
One day, I aspire to be that light hearted with life. I can joke around, but every time a try, I reawaken to the harsh reality of life. One day, I hope to master the skill of ignorance.
