My New Year's Resolution
Throughout all my years of high school, I have always favored my leisure and family activities instead of my academic tasks. Typically, after school when I arrived at my house I would immediately spend the day on my phone and boot up my Playstation to play the latest trendy video games. All these activities would take away from my homework and time away from my family. In my New Year’s Resolution, I aim to spend less time procrastinating and focus on the more important things in my life.
First, I would take various steps to ensure I follow my New Year’s Resolution. One step I would take would be to work on my time management. I would do this by planning my assignments and activities ahead of time with a planner or a schedule on my phone. Another step I would take to ensure I follow my New Year’s Resolution is to prioritize the most important things in my daily life such as my personal health, my academic studies, and my relationship with my friends and family. I would achieve this by getting straight to work on tasks or activities which are essential and not postpone the activities. After I completed all the vital things, I would then go back to my leisure activities. The final step I would take to fulfill my New Year’s Resolution would be to just cut the time I spend on my leisure activities. In the upcoming year, I plan to spend less time on miscellaneous activities which eat up most of my time such as gaming and spending time on my cell phone
If I follow all these steps, I would greatly benefit from it. If I stop spending as much time procrastinating it would be a vast improvement to my grades at school since I do all my work on time which would also lead to less stress in the long run. Since I no longer have to worry about maintaining my grades, this would be a vast improvement to my mental health. SInce I would be spending less time on homework or assigned tasks since they will be completed, I will be able to spend more time with the members of my family.
My New Year’s Resolution will help me greatly in the long run. Even after I complete my academic studies, spending less time procrastinating will help me greatly when I pursue the career on my choice. I will follow my New Year’s Resolution in order to ensure I improve not only as a student, but also a person.
