Sacramento, My home
My Sacramento is full of wonderful kind people the air is scented of fresh roses. I live in South Sacramento in a one story house where I can go outside and just look at my neighborhood. Everyone's grass is green and all the flowers are alive smelling like fresh flowers. In the afternoons after school, I go with my neighbors and see what they need help with. In my street, all you hear is music and people enjoying it and just laughs when everyone gets together. During Christmas, Sacramento is happier than anything and all the lights are on the homes. It smells like pine and cinnamon. Downtown is a place everyone loves going to. People sway to the smooth rhythm of Christmas music. The lights are always on at night.
Well, we always have to come back to reality. Everything I just said is a great beautiful big lie, a lie I wish were true. I live in South Sacramento where it smells like cigarettes and weed mostly everywhere you go. My neighborhood is more quiet than a newborn. I get along with no one and stay to myself. There’s nobody to socialize with because someone always has something to say about someone without knowing them. Also, what people beef over is stupid sh*t. The president we have is racist. There is always issues in society. You can’t even feel safe in school because of all the killing and drugs.
I hate how there's gangs and violence, but it seems like we can’t do anything about that. I hate how in some homeless shelters they can’t keep their animals. So they decide to leave, when really there is nothing wrong with them keeping their animals in the shelter with them. They could be there instead of freezing in the cold and rainy weather. Also, all the racism we have towards Mexicans and Blacks. I get there’s other cultures that experience racism as well, but nothing like those top two. Why do mexicans have to get deported? They are the ones who do your yard or clean your house. There’s also other things they do in society that nobody thinks about.
I wrote this essay to let y'all know the reality of my Sacramento. Don’t let videos fool you into thinking everything is perfect here or anywhere else. Every city has a problem. You can always try to help and make it better, but everyone is tired and exhausted from a long day at work. Even being in school can really wear people out.
