Falling Leaves
You said you would protect me. You said that you wouldn’t let anyone hurt me. You told me that you would always be here for me. You told me that you loved me. Told me that I was your world. Told me that you would do anything for me. Said that you would protect me from all harm. And I should have known. All these promises will all soon vanish. Like the leaves on a tree; they will soon die. But the leaves never grew back. They stayed on the ground. They lied there, on the cold, hard ground. These leaves shall never grow back. They shall never see the beautiful summer again. They will never be bright and colorful. They will never see the true hue of their time. Many will step on these leaves. Many will crush them more. Many will never see the true glory of these leaves. These promises like leaves, they shall fall to the ground. They shall never grow or go back in time. They will never be full. They will never see the true peak of time. These promises like leaves.
As time grew on, the leaves started to change. They changed color and shape and size. The tree knew that seasons were changing. The leaves did not. Many leaves had great hopes for the future. These promises like leaves. The promises could have prevailed. They could have grown and flamed with color. But the seasons changed as such feelings. These feelings of passion and love started to decrease as time continued. With much changed in weather as change in heart. These promises like leaves, these seasons like feelings.
As time continued, the tree suffered. The tree knew that the seasons were changing. He saw the leaves begin to change. The tree observed as the days grew shorter. The tree knew the leaves would soon be gone. The tree knew. The tree began to become stressed. The tree tried to distract the leaves with love. Tried to give the leaves all the hope and desire. To give them the hope they needed to survive the fall. The tries of hope and desire, like more promises. These promises like leaves, these seasons like feelings, this tree as boy.
These promises like leaves, these seasons like feelings, this tree as boy.
