My father has had a big positive impact on my life. Growing up my father didn't have a dad that came around. His dad was in the military when he was born and he never showed his face. So my father didn't have a dad to look up to or to have an idea on how to be a dad. He only had his mother who sadly passed away from cancer. She had to play the roles of both parents by herself. My dad loved playing the guitar when he was a teen. He also kid martial arts and was really passionate about it. Soon he had to decided if he wanted to pursue music or martial arts, in the end he chose music. My dad loved my mother and he made a promise to himself that if he ever had kids that he wouldn't run away from them like his father did. My dad had kids at a pretty young age early 20s. He always did his best with parenting. He ended up having 4 kids to supply for. At the time when we were young lots of jobs starting laying their workers off, my father was one of them. He was looking for jobs to provide for the family and he settled with enterprise rent a car. He hated that job because people were so rude and said whatever they wanted over the phone. They would say the most rude, racist comments you cold think of. My father kind of had a temper with others but he always suppressed it so he didn't lose the job. Sometimes the boss would listen into the calls to make sure the workers are talking right. He then landed a job at GM and has been there for almost 20 years. My dad is the reason I listen to the music I listen to today, Megadeth, Metallica, NWA, Tribe called quest, Green day, Wu tang clan. He also introduced me to all movies like Star Wars, which is one of my favorites, Jaws, Alien, Rambo, Rocky, Halloween, The Exorcist. My father has a very big influence on things that I like today. Probably the reason I prefer Dc over Marvel is because of my dad. He used to buy me all the DC comics, he introduced me to Batman which was his favorite superhero and is mine now. My father also tried to teach me and my siblings wing chun, which is what he did in martial arts. Me and my siblings never showed interest in it and we always goofed off instead of learning. But looking back I wish I woulda learned because that's what he loved to do and he wanted to share his love with us but I was too young to realize that. My dad also taught me how to be the musician like him. He plays on stage with a band and I go to every one of his shows to support. I daydream of me being on stage and he is helping me prepare for that. Everytime I am playing the guitar in the basement my dad brings his bass down and Jams with me. It's fun to play with my dad because he will teach you along the way. Everytime I play with my dad I learn something new. One of the things I love about my dad is that he doesn't care what others think, you would think seeing a 40 year old man dressed as batman is weird but my dad does it anyway and I dress up with him as robin. My father may not be a perfect parent, but I appreciate everything he has done for me and my siblings and I love him for that.
