Conquering fear: My story

Fear, an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that something or someone is dangerous, likely to cause pain or threaten you. Fear is something that everybody has to overcome in their life at a certain point and at most times for certain people this point is where they realize their mental health is stronger than what they thought.

Everybody in this world has experienced some type of fear. fear can be thunder, darkness, blood—but the scariest thing I think fear is would be self doubt and failure. Let me ask you something, have you ever seen a kid that was always so scared of trying new things but they always let their mind get ahead of them and never accomplished what they said they were going to do…

Well, that was me. Today I stand hear haunted by the fact that I cant let fear control me like it has in the past. I used to be such a naive kid that always wanted to try new things that other were doing but I never could because of my self doubt. Sports were not my strong suit and they always lead me to my biggest phase of self doubt. Will I catch this, am I good enough to play, this is so hard I can’t do it. All examples of what I thought I couldn't do but really I could I was just letting the fear of failing control me.

This all changed one day I told myself I can do this positive thought are what made me become what I am today. Positive thoughts are everything when it comes to fear, fear can not control you If you think positive and confident about everything. When I told myself I could do it I ended up pushing myself harder than I ever could and lead me to be successful on the field. One thing to walk away with from this story is not to let fear control you but take it and let it drive you to your own success.
