Racing the Sun
The sun’s going down and I’m speeding over the
ed sidewalks going fast, fast, fast on my way to home, home where I’ll sit by the fire and not feel the cold searing my skin, leaving burn marks on my cheeks and ripping through my clothes like a thousand icy daggers and my legs are pounding but I pedal faster, faster, faster than the sun as it falls through the sky and I must make it home, I must before it overtakes me and leaves me in the vast inky blackness.
