Embarrassing Moment
Two years ago I was playing baseball in detroit against my rival team. I was pitching because coach thought it was our best shot at winning the game. When a started pitching I just wasn't feeling it, I wasn't doing too good.
I started to realize my cup was bothering me. It was rubbing against my leg when I started my pitching motion. Finally coach came out to visit me, I thought he was going to save me get me out of the game. But coach simply asked “what's bothering you?” I said “My cup keeps rubbing on my leg.” “We'll take it out.” coach said. I thought to myself why can't you just get me out of here for once.
So my team, the other team, and all of the fans from both teams had their eyes glued on me. Options were going through my head, run to the dugout to do it, say I have to go to the bathroom, or just simply do it in front of everyone. The last option seemed the easiest. I pulled out my cup in front of everyone and gave it to coach. I could feel my face turning red and a grin on my face as I turned to my teammates to laugh at myself. As a result from all this I started to pitch better and got us out of the inning. The embarrassment wore off finally but I will always remember the lesson I learned, never wear a cup while you're pitching.
